Things I Hate to Find
It's been a good month, except for these things I've found:
1. Fresh Bear Poop in the backyard.
2. Potato Bugs on my potato plants...ick!
3. A Snake laying on my mattress at the trailer.
4. My bean stalks with the all tops eaten off.
5. Droplets of blood on the barn floor.
6. Groundhogs smorgasbording in my garden.
7. Earwigs...(visions of the Star Trek episode where they crawl in EARS!!!!)...anywhere.
8. A Snake laying on my mattress at the trailer. NOTE: This entry has been repeated on purpose. IT WAS IN THERE AGAIN TWO WEEKS LATER!!! Both times we dispatched in a "kind-to-all-the-forest-creatures" sort of way (when I say 'we', I mean my husband did the handling while I ran around my campground with my hands in the air screaming like a fool). I am kind of freaking out about it...if it was the same snake, we can solve the problem in a different sort of way. My fear is that he's found the accomodation agreeable and invited friends and relatives into the nooks and crannies of the RV and that they are all waiting to find a warm body in the bed to snuggle up to.
I'm not getting that "being one with nature" feeling lately...

What a list! We had a snake get loose in our house (it was a pet...but not mine!) and I didn't sleep for a month. I hope your little visitor didn't invite any friends along!
Yikes to the snake! Never fun. None of those things are. Hate potato bugs. Apparently we have a groundhog back at the farm too, enjoying what he can. Ungrateful little thieves that they are! Hopefully word hasn't spread about your place being a snake/bear/potato bug friendly place to visit!
OMG! Can't believe the snake in your bed! I would still be running around the campground...maybe even run all the way home.
Hope your garden survives all the invaders.
I am amazed that you went back into the trailer!!! I couldn't imagine dealing with that - brave woman!
You know all on your list are things that would concern me as well!
I do have to say #3 & #8 would freak me right out, I'm not sure I could sleep in that bed...silly I know but I've always been terrified of snakes.
Having said all that the earwigs are not terrifying but still very weird the way they wiggle around...grosses me out as well and I'm not in the least afraid of bugs, blood suckers, spiders etc...
Hope things are better soon, you need to be one with nature! :~)
Cheers
Okay...heading to the trailer on the weekend...NOT sleeping near that end.
